Insta360 is taking a page from Vuze with its newest immersive camera, creating a camera that can shoot in two different VR formats.
The EVO is a foldable camera that, when unfolded, can shoot VR 180-format video. Collapse the two lenses and you can shoot traditional 360-degree footage.
When shooting in the VR 180 format, the EVO delivers 5.7K-resolution 3D video and 18-megapixel 3D stills. Fold the lenses back and you’ll capture the same resolution stills and video, but without the dimensionality.

Both modes feature the company’s “FlowState” image stabilization technology, a TimeShift time-lapse/hyper-lapse feature and HDR modes.

Additional features include:
The EVO will retail for $420.
Joining the EVO is a new app and an intriguing device that will let you view 3D content on a smartphone. The Insta360 VR app is compatible with Oculus Go, HTC VIVE Focus and Samsung Gear VR and lets you connect the EVO to a headset for wireless playback and transfer.
The Insta360 HoloFrame is a specially designed phone display cover that slips onto the front of your phone and lets you watch 3D photos and video without needing 3D glasses. It will retail for $30 and will be initially available for the iPhone (models X, XS, XS Max and XR). A  version for Samsung S8 and other models will be coming soon.
